Wet'N'Wild eyeshadow trios, Maybelline waterproof mascara, Maybelline pressed powder, Revlon ColorStay for Combination/Oily skin |

I noticed that the foundation formula differs greatly from the original, where there was only 1 foundation for both combination/oily and normal/dry skins; the combo/oily skin formula is much thinner, but it still provides good coverage. I used both my fingers and a sponge to apply; it's good for under my eyes where I tend to have dark circles without being heavy. But, I definitely recommend wearing a GOOD eye cream underneath, as the formula is a bit drying.
As for covering blemishes; my spots were quite red so I found that this foundation alone didn't cover (unless I piled it on, which I don't want to do). So, I applied a thin layer of Revlon with a sponge to take out most of the redness, and then used a small concealer brush with my Everyday Minerals to spot conceal, and it did the trick.
Wet'N'Wild Color Icon eyeshadow trios - 360B (walking on eggshells) and 381B (Sweet as Candy) - $2.97 CAN ea
I bought a Wet'N'Wild eyeshadow trio a few years ago and loved it, but have since tried other brands. Wet'N'Wild was making quite a buzz on YouTube, so I thought I would try out more of their eyeshadow colours. I like neutrals, so I thought I'd get Walking of Eeggshells and Sweet as Candy, as they looked wearable, and at less than $3 I couldn't say no to both! They both have shimmer in the colours, so if you're against shimmer in your shadows, you won't like these. The pigmentation is really good, so I only need to touch my brush to the palette like 1-2 times to get adequate colour. They are very smooth to apply and blend, and last all day! They even include 2 little eyeshadow brushes/foam applications to apply and blend the shadows if you're on the go and don't have brushes with you.
The one particular trio that caught my eye was Sweet as Candy (381B) because it had the exact same colours as my Pur Minerals eyeshadow trio "Goddess". I love Pur Minerals cosmetics, but I have a problem with the eyeshadow trio; I find that there is very little pigmentation, and even when I try to pack on the eyeshadow to make it show, it just looks chalky. Enter Wet'N'Wild! As I mentioned before, the pigmentation is phenomenal, and lasting power is great. Nothing more to say!
Maybelline Volum'Express Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara - Very Black - $5.96 CAN

I have to say, I LOVE this mascara! The formulation is not super wet like most Maybelline mascaras, so it goes on evenly and doesn't weigh down my lashes or curl; in fact, I didn't even have to re-curl my lashes after application, it just kept my lashes how they were! I also like that the brush is flexible, so it gently coats my lashes without saturating them. It didn't look like I was wearing mascara (no tell-tale stringy bits, heavy or stiff, waxy look) but my lashes just look amazing. And, my lashes did feel more "normal" that other mascaras. It gives realistic volume, but not like as if you were wearing false lashes. It wore well throughout the day and removed easily with a oil-based makeup remover. I especially love the price -- ~$6 is $5 less than my L'Oreal Voluminous WP. Uh oh, I sense competition...
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder - Sand, Medium 0-1 - $9.50 CAN
I'm disappointed with this product. I have been using Cover Girl Clean pressed powders for like 10 years, and haven't really ever switched because they're pretty darn good. I have combination-oily skin, so I do need a decent powder for daily use. I heard some great reviews about this Maybelline powder and I thought I'd try it since I'd tried the Dream Matte Mousse Foundation a few years back and thought it was alright. I bought the same coloured powder (Sand, Medium 0-1) and the first thing I noticed was how pink it was! I have an olive skin tone, so that obviously doesn't work. And, also the colour was really light. Maybe it's my own fault, but I feel like the foundation and powder should match!
Colour issues aside the performance of the powder wasn't great. I looked really matte at first, but like 1-2 hours later I was super shiny. Cover Girl powders usually keep me looking matte-semi matte for 3-5 hours, so for me Maybelline really failed there. And, it wasn't a particularly cheap powder either. I'll use it to set concealers or under the eyes, but I probably won't use this for the whole face.
