Holy Cow

Wow. For a while I forgot about blogging, as in it hadn't even crossed my mind. Meh, I've been busy, what can I say? Since my last post was October 2, I'll fill you in on what's happened since then:

1. Midterms happened, that's what
2. Thanksgiving (Went home, had dinner with the family, made butternut squash soup, yay!)
3. Been swamped with reading, and working on a conference poster for my Prof -- it was fun, but also a little stressful
4. Got sick

So, when I got sick, I stopped running. Boo hoo. And now it's freaking cold outside. As a result, I've put on like 1-2 pounds or something relatively insignificant. Not exactly my idea of a plan, but I'm eating healthy. Since I got to school, I realized that my raw eating habits had actually been deviating quite a bit off track, so I've put myself on a 30-day Detox, like from Natalia's book, "Detox 4 Women". It's just a fancy way of saying I'm on a strict diet for the next 30 days to consume nothing but whole, healthy foods. I'm on day 5, and it's not going too badly. Today I had some cereal, which is processed, but I only had like 1 cup, so whatever. I tried making the Pumpkin Pie soup again and it turned out much better this time, largely due to using the right ingredients this time! I found 100% Carrot juice in the refrigerated section by Bolthouse Farms, and instead of just putting in raw sweet potato, I microwaved it to make it softer. All in all, delicious.

I'm feeling quite drained today, probably because of the decreased amount of sleep I've been having lately. I was at my boyfriend's place on Wednesday night and some idiot set off the fire alarm at 1 am. When the fire department came, they actually couldn't turn off the alarm, so it was buzzing ALL NIGHT. I was at school yesterday from 10 am to 7 pm for class, volunteering, and doing stuff in the lab. phew! I'm trying to get more sleep in the coming days, because.... grad photos are coming!

Yes, Graduation Photos... scary. I scheduled mine for Oct23 at 9 am. I have to make sure I don't look like a bum.

Ugh. Sore. I did a lower body workout on WEDNESDAY, and I'm still sore! I was hoping I'd be able to do cardio by now. *sigh* Maybe tomorrow. It's going to be sunny (but cold) for the next few days, so hopefully I can do it soon.

damnit, why am I so tired? My eyes are soooo dryyyyyyy... *whine*
